The province of Misamis Occidental has the Mindanao Sea to the northeast, Iligan Bay to the east, and Panguil Bay to the southeast. Its coast nonwithstanding, Misamis Occidental’s terrain is mostly hilly.
One of the area’s top draws is a mini zoo within a mangrove forest. You can find it at the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park. At the Baliangao Wetland Park, you’ll also see a variety of mangrove trees. Many of the species here are endemic to the Philippines, and endangered.
